Why you should go: Eat burritos, dance and meet members of the Mexican community.

¤ Milkshake plays a fundraiser for GrandKids Child Care Center
When: 4 to 6 p.m.
Where: Strings Music Tent
Cost: $8 for adults; $5 for children

Why you should go: I never thought I would really like kids' music, but I really liked it.

¤ Soup Bowl Supper fundraiser for Animal Assistance League
When: Seatings at 5:30 p.m. and 7 p.m.
Where: Steamboat Springs Community Center next to Bud Werner Memorial Library
Cost: $18 in advance; tickets are available at All That Jazz, the Depot Art Center and the Steamboat Springs Animal Shelter; $20 at the door

Why you should go: I still have the hand thrown ceramic bowls that came with my Soup Bowl Supper tickets. It's the fundraiser that keeps on giving, as someone might say.
