Former Steam--boat Springs resident Donald Jones Hagemann died at his home surrounded by his loving family in the early morning hours of his 54th wedding anniversary, Sept. 8, 2005. He was 77.
Donald was born in St. Louis, Mo., on Jan. 16, 1928, served in World War II, attended Kansas City Art Institute and built an award-winning design firm. He raised his family in Prairie Village, Kan. He retired to Steamboat Springs and later came to live in Garfield, Ark. Well-known in the community for personal and professional achievements, he was most proud of his family.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Gaylen Draper Hagemann; three loving children, Kim and her husband, Tim Pickell, Casey Koons and David Hagemann; a brother, Charles Hagemann; and seven grandchildren, Shannon and her husband, Jonathan Delcambre, Krissy and her husband, Justin Jackson, Allie Koons, Johnny Koons, Matt Dallman and his wife, Kimi, Zach Dallman and Ben Dallman.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Sept. 12 at the Lost Bridge Community Church on Whitney Mountain in Garfield, Ark.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Lives Under Construction Boys Ranch at 296 Boys Ranch Road, Lampe, MO 65681, or Lost Bridge Community Church, c/o Louise Reynolds at 11669 Shady Rock Lane, Garfield, AR.
