Realtors donate $8,000 to county organizations

The Steamboat Springs Board of Realtors donated $8,000 this year to Routt County organizations through the Colorado Association of Realtors Housing Opportunity Foundation.

Among the donation recipients were LIFT-UP of Routt County, Horizons Specialized Services, Advocates Against Battering and Abuse and West Routt Housing Inc.

"Our Board is pleased to donate to our community, and we encourage development of crisis shelters and home-ownership opportunities for individuals and families with moderate and low income," said Jill Limberg of Colorado Group Realty.

The Colorado Association of Realtors donated more than $425,000 this year to housing organizations across the state.

Back-to-school guide available at main office

Copies of a special Steamboat Springs School District back-to-school insert that was published in the Aug. 19 Steamboat Today are available at the district's main office at 325 Seventh St. The insert includes bus route information, lunch prices, district absentee policies and the school calendar.

Steamboat's Weiss graduates from Drake

Tara Weiss of Steamboat Springs graduated from Drake University after the 2005 spring semester with a business administration degree in marketing. Drake is a private, independent university in Des Moines, Iowa, with about 3,150 full-time undergraduate and pharmacy students.
