Arts calendar for Sept. 9


¤ Opening reception for "12 x 12," an exhibit of work by artist members of the Steamboat Springs Arts Council is from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Depot Art Center, 1001 13th St. The show will be on display through Oct. 16. Call 879-9008.

¤ Watercolors by Greg Effinger and ceramics by Jody Elston will be on display and for sale at the Fifth Annual Humble Ranch Education and Therapy Center Benefit from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Humble Ranch. The cost is $25 for adults and $10 for children younger than 12. Call 879-3443 for reservations.

¤ Paintings of historic Routt County buildings by former area resident Marty Alexandroff are on rotating exhibit. They are part of a summer-long silent auction to raise money for Historic Routt County. Bids for the paintings can be made online through mid-October at or by contacting Historic Routt County. ¤ The M.O.R.E. Art Site Project is exhibiting work of local and national artists in the halls of Yampa Valley Medical Center, Ambiente and Chieftain Plaza through October.

¤ Cartoons by Aimee Kimmey and photography by Paula Jo Steele and Judy Jones are on display at Mona's Art to Go, 2851 Riverside Plaza, No. 14.
