Hike to archaeological site on Friday with Yampatika
A Heritage Program hike to the Windy Ridge Archaeological site is from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday. The cost is $12, and participants must sign up through Yampatika. Participants must be 12 and older for the five-mile round-trip hike that offers spectacular views of Rabbit Ears Pass. The program is sponsored by Tread of Pioneers Museum, Yampatika, Historic Routt County and the U.S. Forest Service. Call 871-9151.

for Teen Style section
The Steamboat Pilot & Today is looking for teenage photographers, artists and writers for the 2005-06 staff of Teen Style. Teen Style runs in the Sunday newspaper every third week. Staff members also will be in charge of organizing the third annual Teen Battle of the Bands held in May. Masters swimming classes held every week day
The Steamboat Springs Health and Recreation Association's masters swimming classes are from 12:15 to 1:15 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and from 5:45 to 6:45 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays. The cost is $5 a class for members or $40 for 10 classes and $7 a class for nonmembers. The Health and Rec's fall swimming lessons begin Sept. 12. Colorado COG Rally
looking for volunteers
The Colorado COG Rally is looking for volunteers for the Sept. 16 to 18 rally event in Steamboat Springs and Hayden. Volunteers are needed throughout the days of the event. Tickets are available for the GrandKids Family Fun Festival to be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Sept. 17 at Strings in the Mountains Music Festival Park. Entertainment includes the award-winning children's music of "Milkshake," comedy and juggling by We're Not Clowns, family games and Pickles the Clown. The event also will feature food and beverages and a drawing for prizes such as a Mexico vacation, a ski weekend in Jackson Hole and Colorado Avalanche tickets. Tickets are $5 for children and $8 for adults and can be purchased in advance at All That Jazz or GrandKids Child Care Center. Event and $10 prize tickets also will be available at the door. A local "Bust of Steamboat" team is being organized to participate in the Komen Race for the Cure event Oct. 2 in Denver. The team registration deadline is Sept. 12.
