Drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge would ruin one of America's last unspoiled wild places, and only for a few months worth of oil that won't be available to consumers for 10 years. The American people don't want their national treasures sold off to the highest bidder.
If we simply make our vehicles more efficient and invest in renewable energy sources we can meet America's energy needs without drilling in these special places. This is one place that is so wild, so special, and so important that it should be off limits to oil drilling.
We should do everything in our power to stop all efforts to drill in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge and to jumpstart efforts to make cars go farther on a gallon of gas, promote conservation, and invest in clean, renewable energy.
