Ruby Allison Humphrey, 1922-2005

Former Steamboat Springs resident Ruby Elizabeth Allison Humphrey died Oct. 13, 2005. She was 83.

She was born Jan. 5, 1922, in Checotah, Okla., to Mr. and Mrs. L.L. Allison.

She grew up near Vinita, Okla. She was known as one of the best nutritionists in the Southwest and was an active member in the First Baptist Church in Dallas.

After she retired, she moved to Colorado to be near her children and was thrilled to be in the mountains. She loved her home, her family and the Lord. Her fondness for children and flowers was legendary. She had a green thumb, which was appreciated by friends and family alike. Her Godly patience, generosity and nurturing will be remembered forever.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Muriel and Pearl; and brother, Claude.

She is survived by her four children, Judy, Phyllis, Roger and Jim; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
