Koehler part of Mesa State production

Darren Koehler, who attended Steamboat Springs High School and now is a freshman at Mesa State College, recently was part of the college's production of GODSPELL. The production took place Oct. 5 to 8. Koehler was part of the ensemble, and was featured in the song "All Good Gifts" during the first act of the musical.

Koehler's major is musical theater. He was part of "Sound of Music" while at SSHS, and has performed in "Working the Musical," "Ring Around the Moon," "Sunday in the Park with George," and "Chicago." He has previously attended both the Idyllwild Arts Academy in California and the Perry-Mansfield Performing Arts School and Camp in Steamboat.

Schlingman receives Gaylord scholarship

Gaylord Entertainment awarded one of its seven Gaylord Entertainment Scholarships to Christian Heritage High School graduate Dana Schlingman.Schlingman is the daughter of ResortQuest Steamboat employee Kathleen Schlingman.

The scholarship provides children of Gaylord Entertainment employees an opportunity to obtain financial aid for higher education and to encourage the pursuit of higher education.Each recipient received a $1,000 renewable scholarship.
