Kaleidoscope Art Exploration for Kids programs for 1st through 6th graders took place throughout the summer. This program is sponsored by the Steamboat Springs Arts Council in partnership with The City of Steamboat Springs Parks and Recreation Summer Programming, The Center for Movement Arts and the Yampa Valley Ceili Society.
These summer programs offered workshops for more than 150 children of all ages to develop artistically. The programs were broken up into five sessions from June through August.
This summer's Kaleidoscope programs focused on various art forms, including Italian street painting, a mural inspired by Yampatika's naturalist visit, Stepping with Rhythm, an Irish and an African tale dance performance, and journal making where students chronicled their summer adventures through drawings and stories. Program Director Dona Steele recapped the summer as being very successful. "The counselors were awesome and did a fantastic job of guiding, interacting, and inspiring our students."
