Robert V. "Bob" Barnes

Lifelong Hayden resident Robert V. "Bob" Barnes died Nov. 6, 2005, at Yampa Valley Medical Center after a long battle with cancer. He was 75.

Bob was born May 20, 1930, to Marvin and Marjorie Barnes in Hayden.

He married Mary Johanna Puff on May 7, 1949, in Craig. To this union, six children were born: Bobby Joe Barnes, David Vail Barnes, Kathleen Ann Smith, Pamela Sue Copeland, Mary Rebecca Stephenson and Samuel Ray Barnes. He had 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Bob lived in Hayden his whole life, where he farmed and ranched.

He was preceded in death by is father, Marvin; brother, Jack; son, David; and grandson, Tony.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Jo; his five children; two daughters-in-law; three sons-in-law; two brothers, Bill Barnes of Hayden and Pete Barnes of Cedaredge; his mother, Marjorie Briggs of Hayden; and many nieces and nephews.

Memorial donations may be made to the Rocky Mountain Cancer Center in care of the Grant Mortuary at 621 Yampa Ave., Craig, CO 81625.
