WorldWest newspapers management restructured

Suzanne Schlicht, publisher of Steamboat Pilot & Today, Steamboat Today and Hayden Valley Press newspapers and regional manager for WorldWest LLC since 1995, has been named general manager and director of strategic planning for the company.

The change is part of a realignment of responsibilities announced Monday. Bryna Larsen succeeds Schlicht as publisher. Larsen will direct day-to-day operations of the newspapers and will be responsible for management of all departments.

Samantha Johnston, who has been publisher of the Craig Daily Press, succeeds Larsen as regional director of advertising. Johnston will manage the classified and display advertising departments at the Steamboat Springs and Craig newspapers.

Canyons Resort adds brand-marketing expert

Todd Burnette, a 17-year strategic marketing management veteran, was named to the position of vice president of Brand Management & Marketing at the Canyons Resort.

Burnette will work with Andy Wirth, vice president of sales and marketing for Steamboat Ski Area and The Canyons.

Burnette most recently held the position of vice president of Corporate Development for the Houston Rockets, where he helped develop partnerships with several local and national companies, including McDonald's, SBC, Cingular, and Bank of Texas. Before joining the Rockets, Burnette opened the Park City office of Mountain Sports Media and Warren Miller Entertainment, where he was vice president.
