Israel -- Asher

Gunilla Ruth Israel and Mark Alan Asher were married Oct. 1, 2005, at the T-Lazy 7 Ranch in Aspen. A meadow and Pyramid Peak provided the ceremony's backdrop.

They were joined by the bride's parents, Charles Israel of Aspen and Dr. Gun Agell of Seattle, Wash.; and the groom's family of Aurora, Neb.

The ceremony was performed by longtime friends Brian Ashbaugh and Shlomo Ben-Hamoo.

The bride's sister, Linda Israel-Zimmerman, was the maid of honor, and the groom's brother, Randy Asher, was the best man.

In addition to family, the couple was joined by many local friends and out-of-town guests. The reception was held at the Maroon Bells Lodge.

Israel is the advertising director of The Aspen Times, and she is an Aspen native. She met Asher in Steamboat Springs, where he has lived for the past 11 years.

He recently relocated and is working as a superintendent with Heritage Builders Inc.

After a brief honeymoon to the East Coast, the couple now resides in Basalt.
