Simon graduates from High Tech Institute

Caleb Samuel Simon graduated Sept. 16, 2005, from the Computer Assisted Drafting program at High Tech Institute in Phoenix, Ariz. He received special recognition for his 96 percent cumulative grade average.

Hayden parent-teacher conferences this week

Parent-teacher conferences for Hayden High School and Hayden Middle School are from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday. Call the high school office at 276-3761 or the middle school office at 276-3762 with questions.

'Taming of the Shrew'

performances this week

Students will perform Shakespeare's "The Taming of the Shrew" at 7 p.m. Thursday and Friday at Steamboat Springs High School. Tickets are available at the high school ticket office and at All That Jazz. The cost is $10 for adults, $8 for students ages 12 to 18, and $5 for activity pass holders and children younger than 12.

Band booster group meets Thursday

This month's meeting of the parent booster group for the Steamboat Springs High School band is at 6 p.m. Thursday in the high school band room. All parents of high school band students are invited and encouraged to help support the band program.

Soroco's 'Ram Time'

has early success

At Thursday's meeting of the South Routt School District School Board, Soroco High School Principal James Chamberlin reported that "Ram Time," an innovative weekly study class that began Wednesday, had great success in its first week. Ram Time adds flexibility to the schedule for teachers and students, Chamberlin said, allowing time for counseling, tutoring, library or computer lab work and more. Ram Time is every Wednesday from 8:25 to 8:55 a.m. Chamberlin can be reached at 736-2531.
