Local organizations raising money for Katrina victims
American Legion posts in Steamboat Springs, Hayden, Yampa and Craig, the Veterans of Foreign Wars post in Steamboat and the VFW Auxiliary in Steamboat are raising money to provide emergency housing assistance to veterans who lost their homes because of Hurricane Katrina. Donations can be made to the American Legion National Emergency Fund at any American Legion post or by dropping off donations at First National Bank of Steamboat Springs or the Moffat County National Bank. One hundred percent of all donations will go directly to veterans who have lost their homes. The fundraising effort ends today.
