Former Steamboat Springs resident Stephen Stirling Wilson passed away at his Missoula, Mont., home Nov. 3, 2005. He was 52.
Stephen was born Aug. 13, 1953, in Denver to Charles and Mary Wilson.
Stephen lived and worked most of his adult life in Steamboat Springs and recently moved to Missoula after cancer caused his disability.
Stephen was preceded in death by his father and leaves behind his mother of Poulsbo, Wash.; sister, Ann, and her husband, Jack; nephew, Joel; niece Emily Wallgren of Poulsbo, Wash.; brother, Dave and his wife, Cheryl; nieces Sarah and Ellen Wilson of Missoula; and his many, many loving friends who knew him simply as "Wilson" in his hometown of Steamboat and elsewhere.
Per his requests, no services will be held after his cremation. Memorial donations may be made to Angel Flight, 3161 Donald Douglas Loop South, Santa Monica, CA 90405. Angel Flight generously transported him from Colorado to Missoula during the pain of his illness.
Stephen was one of those very rare people who, with his kindness and sense of humor, profoundly touched the lives of those who were fortunate to meet him. We were so lucky to have known him and will miss him greatly.
