The Hayden High School junior varsity volleyball team wrapped the 2005 season with a winning record.
The Tigers finished 10-6, including two wins against rival Soroco High School, coach Sally Morton said.
"It is just always a good match," she said about the cross-county rivalry. "Both teams get up for it and just play awesome."
Hayden's JV 'A' squad started strong and then worked with several player rotations during the middle of the season.
"The girls came on really strong toward the end of the season," Morton said.
The Tigers used 14 girls at the JV level.
"All 14 of them were very good," Morton said. "With every match, we kept getting stronger and stronger."
Several players -- Holli Salazar, Lauren Frentress and Lacey Doolin -- mixed time between the JV and varsity rosters.
Morton highlighted the blocking of Salazar and Doolin, the serving of Frentress and Dreanna Dowling, the hitting of Stephanie Blake and the setting of Brianna Ford.
"It's my job to help these kids step up and play varsity," Morton said. "We do that with trying to get everybody as much court time as possible."
Hayden seniors who will need to be replaced on the varsity squad next season are: Justine Bedell, Mariah Doolin, Chelsea Fry, Alicia Hall and Sara Sumerlin.
