Hayden mosquito spraying is Saturday and Monday
The town of Hayden has arranged for aerial spraying of mosquitoes during the evening hours Saturday and Monday, weather permitting. A more exact time and date cannot be established because spraying is contingent on wind and weather conditions. For more information, call Town Hall at 276-3741.
Forest Service requires permit for group activities
U.S. Forest Service officials remind people that all commercial uses and noncommercial events involving 75 people or more must have a permit to use national forest land. The Forest Service is not issuing any new commercial permits for outfitters until a capacity study is completed to determine how to best manage such uses in the Routt National Forest.
However, noncommercial events, such as recreational activities, races and family reunions, of 75 people or more, can get permits on a case-by-case basis. Groups of fewer than 75 people should inform the Forest Service of their event so that officials can help find the best place for the event, provide guidance on access and coordinate with other events to avoid conflicts. Call 879-1870.
