Sailors' movies featured in student film festival

A half-dozen movies made by Steamboat Springs High School students were chosen to be screened during the sixth annual Rocky Mountain Student Filmfest to be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday in the Glenwood Springs High School auditorium. Admission is $5 at the door. This year's festival will be the biggest yet, organizers said, with 30 films to be shown.
The entries from Steamboat Springs High School are "The Paper," "Cheese," "Jeremy" and "Crazy as Sane," which will be shown Friday evening, and "PB&J" and "Pirates of the Carribean," which will be shown Saturday evening.

Elementary students raise $16,000
Steamboat Springs
Local elementary school students raised more than $16,000 for the American Heart Association through their Jump Rope for Heart fund-raiser.
Soda Creek Elementary School students raised more than $10,000, and Strawberry Park Elementary School students raised more than $6,000. Strawberry Park's leading fund-raiser was Zephyr Lacey, who collected $400 for the American Heart Association.
