Hayden Middle School wrestlers finish first

The Hayden Middle School wrestlers ended their season with their third consecutive first-place finish. The Tigers won the East Grand Middle School Invitational Wrestling Tournament Saturday.

The tournament featured 18 schools ranging from 2A to 4A in size.

The Tigers won 12 of 13 matches in the first round and finished with 10 wrestlers on the podium.

First place winners included Jake Walker, 110 pounds; Mitchell Doolin, 115 pounds; and Coy Letlow, 145 pounds.

Second-place finishers included Cory Terry, 70 pounds; Treyben Letlow, 110 pounds; and Halen Raymond, heavyweight.

Third-place finishers included Greg Medvesk, 90 pounds; Koleman Williams, 95 pounds; Ben Williams, 100 pounds; and Jake Magee, 125 pounds.

"Our Tiger wrestlers have turned out to be a great tournament team," said head coach Dallas Robinson. "Not only are the varsity wrestlers great point getters, but just as importantly the junior varsity does a spectacular job of knocking other teams out of scoring potential.Championships are a team effort."
