Vacation Bible School at 9 Monday to Thursday

The Mission of Grace Baptist Church and the Hayden Congregational Church are hosting Vacation Bible School from 9 a.m. to noon Monday through Thursday at the Baptist Church, 361 Sunflower Dr. in Hayden.

The Bible School is free and open to children ages 4 to those in sixth grade. To register, call Barbara May at 276-3111. Children also may register at 8:30 a.m. Monday.

Parade entries are sought for Fourth of July parade

The 102nd Annual Cowboys' Roundup Days First National Bank of Steamboat Springs Fourth of July parade is in the planning stages, and parade entries are sought. The theme of this year's parade is "Steamboat Springs Show Us Your Age." This year also marks the 100th anniversary of the Routt National Forest and F.M Light & Sons. Parade entry forms are available at the Steamboat Springs Visitor Center or by calling 879-0882, ext. 203 to request a faxed application.

Conservation district holds annual meeting June 28

Routt County Conservation District, in conjunction with the Routt County Weed Advisory Board, will be holding its annual meeting at 1 p.m. June 28 at Yampa River State Park. Many changes are in store for the 2005 meeting. This year, RCCD will be conducting Conservation Tours in conjunction with the traditional meeting and barbecue. The tours, which will leave the park at 1 and return at 4 p.m., will focus on water and will highlight RCCD/Natural Resources Conservation Service conservation projects in the Yampa River basin, including the Frentress stream bank protection project and the Cary Ditch irrigation project. Local gardening book now available across Steamboat

A new book about gardening in the Yampa Valley is now available. "59 Days, 39°F at 6,770 Feet ..." was written by local master gardeners and can be purchased for $13.99 at the Routt County Cooperative Extension Office, Off the Beaten Path, Epilogue Book Co., Safeway, Sweet Pea Produce, Windemere, Ace at the Curve, Elk River Farm & Feed, Steamboat Floral, Alpine Floral and Blue Sky Pottery. All proceeds from the sale of the book benefit the Routt County Master Gardener program.

Hayden Recreation Board seeks arts, crafts vendors

The Hayden Recreation Board is seeking vendors of arts, crafts, children's items and garden items for the fourth annual Hayden Valley Summerfest, which will be held July 2. Vendors must have or apply for a Colorado state Sales Tax License and a Hayden Sales Tax License. If interested, call Lindsay at 276-3741.

Contestants needed to bring their best chili

The second annual Mountain Chili Festival, hosted by Steam-boat Ski and Resort Corp., is looking for participants to cook their favorite chili recipes. The event will be July 30. Call 871-5336.
