Jackson, Wyo.

Peter Boniface and David Pepin of the Backcountry Provisions sandwich shop in Steamboat Springs have exported their successful business formula to Jackson, Wyo., where they opened a new restaurant Friday. The new Backcountry Provisions is a half-block off Jackson's bustling town square, next to the Skinny Skis Nordic shop.

Pepin and Boniface have taken on a partner, Troy Perr--ine, in the new store.

Boniface said the new store will have the same menu as the Steamboat store and the theme of laminating topo maps onto the tables will be picked up. Like the Steamboat store, the Jackson store encompasses about 1,200 square feet. However, the Jackson shop is on two levels.

Phony invoices fill

business in-boxes

Steamboat Springs

Bob Hartwig, owner and manager of Alpine Timber--craft LLC in Steamboat Springs, says phony business invoices have been showing up in his post office box for at least 15 years.

And he's not alone. Nationwide, the Better Bus--iness Bureau has received many complaints from businesses about companies that sell business directories regarding their selling practices. The firms that complain report their businesses were billed for a directory listing that was never ordered, or that sales personnel lead them to think they were renewing advertising in the directory.
