Woman cited for assault

in ball-field brawl

A woman was issued a citation for assault Monday after allegedly hitting two other women during a baseball game.

Christina Aguilar, 33, of Englewood, was issued a citation after allegedly hitting sisters Amanda and Krystal Quick of Denver.

Officers responded at about 5 p.m. to the baseball fields in the 2500 block of Pine Grove Road where several fans at the adult Triple Crown baseball game were arguing and fighting.

The first time Officer Gerard Geis was there to calm the crowd down, the sisters reported the alleged assault. However, officers could not find Aguilar to question her.

Geis returned to the scene at about 5:30 p.m. when he was notified that Aguilar had been found and that the other women wanted to press charges.

There was no other physical violence reported.

About 15 to 20 fans from both teams were involved in the verbal altercation, but Aguilar was the only person to receive a citation.

Triple Crown officials warned the fans and asked the manager of each team to tell rowdy spectators to leave. One team forfeited the game after the manager refused to ask the fans to leave.

Geis waited until the crowd had dispersed to make sure there were no other problems.
