Chamber seeking events for it 2005 calendar

The Steamboat Springs Chamber Resort Association is asking for events to be submitted for its 2005 calendar. The calendar includes events in April through October and will be available on the Chamber's Web sites, the Summer Visitors Guide and other visitor-information publications. Call 879-0882, ext. 203, or e-mail for a submission form. The deadline is Feb. 14.

Winter Carnival event

registration opens Feb. 3

Registration for Winter Carnival street event participants opens Feb. 3 at the Steamboat Springs Chamber Resort Association Visitor Information Center, 1255 S. Lincoln Ave. Registration hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays. Call 879-0880, ext. 203.

TEFAP food available through LIFT-UP

U.S. Department of Agriculture commodities are being distributed at the LIFT-UP of Routt County offices in Steamboat Springs, Hayden and Oak Creek through The Emergency Food Assistance Program. Eligible households can receive TEFAP foods once per quarter, and the current quarter began Jan. 1 and ends March 30. Call 870-8804 for more information about income eligibility and each office's hours of operation.

Scarves to benefit breast cancer fight available

Pink scarves benefiting the Yampa Valley Breast Cancer Awareness Program are available at Epilogue Book Co. The scarves were made by volunteer knitters to help the fight against breast cancer.

Library story-times for children are changing

Story-times for children 5 and younger at Bud Werner Memorial Library are changing. All story-times are a half-hour and are free. No advance registration is required. Call 879-0240.
