Comedian Attaway will perform at 'Ski for DeSo'
Comedian Kip Attaway will perform at the Bear River Bar & Grill for the eighth annual "Ski for DeSo" Day at 4 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $10 at the door for this 21-and-older show. All proceeds from the sale of tickets to the show will be combined with an additional donation and contributed by The DeSo Foundation to the Steamboat Ski and Resort Corp. Scholarship Fund at the Yampa Valley Community Foundation. Call 879-8632.
Steamboat Pilates offering five-week mat series
Steamboat Pilates is offering a five-week mat series especially for people who have never done Pilates. This "Never-Ever Class" will be at 8:30 a.m. Mondays beginning next week. The cost is $55. Call 879-6788 to sign up or stop by the studio at 11th Street and Lincoln Avenue in the Old West Building.
Strings' Valentine's Progressive Dinner Feb. 13
Strings in the Mountains will present its eighth annual Valentine's Progressive Dinner Fund-raiser on Feb. 13. This year, the tour will visit nine homes on Anglers Drive, and transportation will be provided between each home. Tickets are $120 per person and are available through the Strings office at 879-5056, ext. 103. Limit 60 people.
Library continuing 'It's a Girl Thing' this spring
Bud Werner Memorial Library will continue its popular book discussion series for girls and women called "It's a Girl Thing" this spring. This free program is open to girls ages 10 to 12 and a woman partner such as a mom, grandma, friend or teacher. Pairs may sign up for one or two discussions.
Program dates are Friday, March 4 and April 8. Programs run from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the library. The library will give each pair a copy of the discussion book to keep. Registration is required. Call the library at 879-0240 or stop by the children's desk to sign up. Space is limited.
Family enrichment
program offered
Creating Lasting Family Connections, a four-week, research-validated family enrichment program geared toward parents and middle-school children is being offered from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday to Feb. 24. The program covers building better relationships, making better decisions and creating a stronger family. The cost is $50 per family and includes dinner each night of class. Register by calling Grand Futures Prevention Coalition at 879-6188.
Strings seeks volunteers
to usher, work concessions
Strings in the Mountains is looking for volunteers to usher or work at the box office or concession stand at summer concerts in June, July and August. If you are interested and can commit to five or more concerts, call Andrea Erickson at Strings in the Mountains at 879-5056, ext. 100, before Feb. 11.
Vertical Express for M.S. seeks racers, volunteers
Skiers and riders of all ages and ability levels are needed for the 20th Jimmie Heuga Vertical Express for M.S. to be held Feb. 12. Racers should call Jill Waldman at 879-9020. Volunteers should call Stacey Kramer at 879-7860.
