¤ Opening reception for "Interpretation: New works by Patricia Branstead" will be from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Comb Goddess, in the Old West Building on 11th Street. Call 871-0606.

Tuesday
¤ Reception for Senior Art Showcase 2005 will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Depot Art Center, 1001 13th St. This one-day show features work by Steamboat Springs High School seniors Jason Powell, Laura Brees, Suzie Ford, Alex Stegmeier, Joel Graham and Jenny Lee. A portion of the sale of artwork will be donated to the Elton John AIDS Foundation. Call 879-9008.

Art opportunities
¤ Artists are invited to submit work for the first "January Thaw Art Exhibit" scheduled for Jan. 27 to 31 in the Orange Peel Bicycle Velodome, 1136 Yampa Ave.
Artwork may be any medium (including large outdoor work and video) but must somehow involve "oranges, bicycles, the color orange or all three." $10 entry fee per person for as many as three pieces. A portion of every fee will be donated to Bikes Not Bombs, a nonprofit organization working for alternative transportation and community development. Artwork is due at the venue Jan. 24. ¤ Modern art by Bill Mack, Bill Toma and Randy Cooper is on display at the TEI Fine Art Gallery through Dec. 31. The exhibit also includes GAIL's sculptures of Western women and surreal equine paintings and prints by Robin Caspari. TEI Fine Art Gallery is located in Torian Plum Plaza. Call 879-2240.
¤ The exhibit on display at Studio Gallery 27 features work by local and national artists: Julie Anderson, Beth Banning, Diane Cionni, Julia Corbett, Max Damore, R.C. Dieckhoff, Michael Conrad, Doron Fishman, Wallace Garrison, Jeffrey Hall, Charley Hart, Michele Ideus, George Krawzoff, Lisa Lala, Janice Lawrence, Connie Norman, Chris Oar, Susan Schiesser, Keri Searls, Susan Thompson, Patricia Walsh, Rob Williams and Jan Willman.
