Suicide support group to meet once a month

Reaching Everyone Preventing Suicide, or REPS, is offering a monthly support group for those who have lost a loved one to or have been touched by suicide. "Heartbeat of Routt County" will be held the second Tuesday of each month at 6 p.m. in the Visiting Nurse Association office, 940 Central Park Drive, Suite 101. Hosts are Ronna Autrey and Laurie Marano, both of whom are community members who have lost loved ones to suicide. For more information, call Ronna at 871-0682.

Snowboarding program looking for helpers

The Snowboard Outreach Society, a nonprofit organization that teaches snowboarding to at-risk children, needs volunteers for its Steamboat Springs program. Teens eligible to win prizes from library

Bud Werner Memorial Library's "Sock It to Me" teen program runs through the holidays. Teens are invited to the library to enter a drawing to win a stocking filled with books, movies and other goodies. Workforce Office offers advice for veterans

Military veterans are encouraged to stop by the Workforce Office in the Sundance at Fish Creek shopping center to visit with the Routt County veterans affairs officer. Earn ski vouchers by working at events

The Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club needs volunteers for International Skiing Federation Alpine races, Dec. 18 to 21 at Howelsen Hill and Steamboat Ski Area. Volunteers are needed to be gatekeepers and for other duties. All volunteers will get a ski ticket voucher to be redeemed at Steamboat Ski Area any day of the ski season. The Winter Sports Club and Steamboat Ski and Resort Corp. also need volunteers for the 2005 Nordic Combined World Cup B and U.S. Freestyle Team Olympic Trials, Dec. 10, 11 and 30. Volunteers needed to ring bells for Salvation Army

The Salvation Army began its annual bell-ringing campaign Nov. 25. Anyone interested in volunteering for a one-hour shift should call Sharon at 846-8257 or Debbie at 879-8192.
