There were no last-minute entries into the Steamboat Springs School Board race.
This November's election will have only one contested race, which will be for Director District 1. Incumbent Michael Loomis will face John DeVincentis, former principal of Strawberry Park Elementary School.
Friday was the deadline to turn in a petition to run for open seats on the School Board, and district officials said four candidates applied.
Only incumbent Tom Miller-Freutel is running for the Director District 5 seat, and longtime teacher Denise Connelly, who retired this year, will be running for the Director District 3 seat. Paula Stephenson, School Board president and incumbent for that seat, is not running for re-election.
There is one contested election in the Hayden school district, where three seats also are up, said Jnl Linsacum, School District elections official. Business owner Jeff Fry will be facing incumbent Patty Bruchez for the Director District A seat.
Incumbent Brian Hoza is the only person running for the Director District E seat. School Board President Kurt Frentress is the only person running for the Director District C seat.
In the South Routt School District, there are no contested elections, but there is one person running for each open seat, school district officials said.
AlidaLee Gingerich, incumbent, is running for the Director District 1 seat. Regina Hange is running for the Director District 2, which has been vacant since Gingerich moved into Director District 1 this summer. William Smith is running for the Director District 3 seat, which is filled by Kevin Gneiser.
The South Routt School Board held an informational meeting Thursday night to encourage people to run for the open spots.
