Frontier Airlines executive speaks today at Rotary

Sam Addoms, chairman of Frontier Airlines, will speak before the Steamboat Springs Rotary Club today, and members of the public are invited to join the Rotary for lunch and the program. His appearance is scheduled for noon at the Steamboat Grand Resort Hotel and Conference Center.

Addoms, who helped found the airline in 1993, served as its president from 1994 until 2001. He is expected to talk about the founding of the airline and its current advertising program, "A Whole Different Animal."

Rotary President Chan Coyle said the club also would welcome the interest of guests at today's luncheon who want to be considered for membership. The price of the buffet luncheon is $12.

High school check-in

will be Wednesday

Check-in for all students attending Steamboat Springs High School will be Wednesday. Students should report at the following times:

n Seniors: (A-F) 7:30 a.m., (G-M) 8 a.m., (N-S) 8:30 a.m., (T-Z) 9 a.m.

n Juniors: (A-F) 9:30 a.m., (G-M) 9:45 a.m. (N-S) 10 a.m., (T-Z) 10:15 a.m.

n Sophomores: (A-F) 11 a.m., (G-M) 11:30 a.m., (N-S) 12 p.m., (T-Z) 12:30 p.m.

n Freshmen: (A-F) 2 p.m., (G-M) 2:30 p.m., (N-S) 3 p.m., (T-Z) 3:30 p.m.

Freshmen Link Crew orientation will be from 2 to 7 p.m. today with a parent meeting from 6 to 7 p.m. today at the high school.

All students must bring their completed yellow enrollment forms with parental signatures to check-in. Freshmen enrollment forms are due today at orientation.

Students should be prepared to pay class fees at check-in and have school pictures taken and bring their library cards to receive textbooks. Call the school at 879-1562 with questions.

Artists needed to mentor for student paintings

Artists are needed to participate in and mentor student paintings of Diego Rivera's work on sidewalks downtown.

The event is part of the second annual Mexican Art and Cultural Festival sponsored by city of Steamboat Springs and Steamboat Springs Arts Council. An informational meeting will be held at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Depot Art Center. Call Donna at 879-9038 or Robert at 879-8068.

Tackle, flag football

registration under way

Registration is under way for third- and fourth-grade flag football and fifth- and sixth-grade tackle football. The programs, sponsored by the city parks department, run from Monday to mid-October. Flag football is $45, and tackle football is $65. Call 879-4300. Volunteer coaches also are needed for the program. Interested volunteers must attend a mandatory meeting at 6 p.m. today at the Steamboat Springs Parks and Recreational Services Office.

Tickets on sale for Andrea Marcovicci benefit concert

Tickets are now on sale for a benefit concert featuring cabaret singer Andrea Marcovicci performing "If I Were A Bell: The songs of Frank Loesser."

The concert is at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Strings in the Mountains Music Festival Park. Tickets are $30 and can be purchased by calling 879-7125. Proceeds benefit Perry-Mansfield Performing Arts School and Camp.
