Tickets on sale for cabaret singer Andrea Marcovicci

Tickets are on sale for a benefit concert featuring cabaret singer Andrea Marcovicci performing "If I Were A Bell: The songs of Frank Loesser."

The concert is at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 24 at the Strings in the Mountains Music Festival Park. Tickets are $30 and can be purchased by calling 879-7125. Proceeds benefit Perry-Mansfield Performing Arts School and Camp.

Youth hockey looking for coaches, assistant coaches

The Steamboat Springs Youth Hockey Association is looking for coaches and assistant coaches for the 2005-06 sesason. SSYHA needs people who would be positive influences and role models, who are excited to spend time teaching hockey skills to children, and who are willing to commit to coaching from October to March. Ranch horse clinic will be Friday at fairgrounds

A ranch horse clinic with Don Ulmer will be held Friday at the Routt County Fairgrounds, the day before the Routt County Fair ranch horse competition. The cost is $45. Register by calling Marianne Sasak at 879-5214.

Sponsor or design a bra for Bust of Steamboat

The Yampa Valley Breast Cancer Awareness Project is looking for local artists and sponsors for 2005 Bust of Steamboat. Design a bra to be auctioned off live Oct. 28 and help raise money for local women. All funds benefit uninsured or underinsured women of the Yampa Valley who are in need of mammograms or financial assistance for breast cancer treatment.

Sponsorships are a tax-deductible donation of $300 to the YVBCAP and include two tickets to the event. This year's event will be held at Three Peaks Grill from 5 to 8 p.m. Oct. 28. Bras will be on display across the community to raise awareness during October.

Breast cancer survivors also are needed as volunteers at Bust of Steamboat.

Bereavement education, support group meeting

"Mending A Broken Heart," a bereavement education and support group sponsored by Hospice and the Visiting Nurse Association, will meet during August. The group will meet from noon to 1 p.m. Thursdays through Sept. 1.nyone grieving the death of a loved one is encouraged to attend. The meetings will take place at VNA offices. Call Katy Thiel at 871-7628 before attending a meeting.

Library invites children

to 'Walk on the Wild Side'

Bud Werner Memorial Library invites children and teens who participated in the Penny Pages reading program to "Walk on the Wild Side" from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday at the Carpenter Ranch. Families should arrange their own transportation. Penny Pages participants, along with members of Steamboat Rotary Club and library staff will present a contribution to the River to Ridges habitat protection effort at the end of the walk. Applications for historic register are due Friday

Applications for designation to the Routt County Register of Historic Properties are due in the Routt County Commissioners Office, second floor of the courthouse annex, on Friday. Call Dee Bolton, 879-0108, for applications or with questions.
