Registration under way for Philanthropy Days
Registration has begun for Northwest Colorado Philanthropy Days, an opportunity for nonprofit leaders in Routt, Moffat, Rio Blanco, Jackson and Grand counties to meet each other, meet Colorado funders, build relationships and attend training panels and workshops. The event costs $75 and will be Sept. 11 to 13 at The Inn at SilverCreek in Granby. Register online at www.grandfoundation.com or call (970) 887-9838.
Working sheepdog lessons held Thursday and Aug. 28
Working sheepdog lessons for border collies, Australian shepherds and other herding breeds are offered Thursday and Aug. 28 in Steamboat Springs. Carol Lucero will instruct. Beginners are welcome. The cost is $30 a lesson. Register by calling Marianne Sasak at 879-5214.
Volunteers needed Aug. 13 for Tour de Steamboat
Volunteers are needed to assist with "Kent Eriksen's Tour de Steamboat" on Aug. 13. The event is a 105-mile non-competitive bike tour summiting Rabbit Ears, Gore and Yellow Jacket passes. Volunteers are needed for registration, aid stations and a post-event barbecue. Shifts last about 5 hours, and volunteers will receive a T-shirt and barbecue meal.
