Sponsor or design a bra for Bust of Steamboat
The Yampa Valley Breast Cancer Awareness Project is looking for local artists and sponsors for the 2005 Bust of Steamboat. Design a bra to be auctioned off live Oct. 28 and help raise money for local women. All funds benefit uninsured or underinsured women of the Yampa Valley who are in need of mammograms or financial assistance for breast cancer treatment.
Sponsorships are a tax-deductible donation of $300 to the YVBCAP and include two tickets to the event. This year's event will be held at Three Peaks Grill from 5 to 8 p.m. Oct. 28. Bras will be on display in the community to raise awareness during October.
Breast cancer survivors are also needed as volunteers at Bust of Steamboat.

County road closure planned for Wednesday
The Routt County Road and Bridge Department will close a portion of Routt County Road 46 to replace a culvert Wednesday. The road will be closed from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. from the intersection of C.R. 46A to the intersection of C.R. 46B. Call the road department at 879-0831.
Bereavement education, support group to meet
"Mending A Broken Heart," a bereavement education and support group, sponsored by Hospice and the Visiting Nurse Association, will resume meeting in August. his month, the group will meet from noon to 1 p.m. Thursdays beginning Aug. 11 and ending Sept. 1. nyone grieving the death of a loved one is encouraged to attend. Tickets now on sale for annual Literary Sojourn
Tickets are on sale for Literary Sojourn, the premier festival of authors in the Rocky Mountain Region, to be held Sept. 10. Tickets are $75 and can be purchased at the Bud Werner Memorial Library, Off the Beaten Path Bookstore or www.literarysojourn.org.
