Lyman Orton: Over the edge

County Commissioner Doug Monger went over the edge of statesmanship and into the gutter of not only poor taste, but also of inciteful, inflammatory, vindictive, and defamatory behavior with his statement, "We're dealing with terrorists here ..." in reference to Friends of The Justice Center.
No matter what one's position on the justice center location, for an elected official to call the citizens who elected him terrorists -- and all that implies -- indicates that he is no longer fit to serve in office. The residents of Routt County can't afford to have a commissioner in office whose anger is so out of control and whose judgment is so lacking. He could get this county into serious trouble with such appalling behavior.
Save yourself the embarrassment, and the county the expense, of a recall election and resign, Doug. You are not upholding the oath you took for this office.
