Fire Ready opening branch in Steamboat

Fire Ready, the only statewide wildfire prevention and protection service, is opening a branch in Steamboat Springs to serve Routt, Moffat, Jackson and Grand counties.

Fire Ready of Steamboat Springs owner Brett Ochs brings wildfire experience and a background in biology.

Fire Ready's work was tested during the 2002 fire season. All Fire Ready homes survived the fire, including properties where the Missionary Ridge Fire in Durango directly hit defensible space work.
