Families interested in participating in the annual soap box derby are invited to attend a Soap Box Derby Building Clinic, hosted by teacher Johnny Walker, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Steamboat Springs Middle School industrial arts room. Call derby director Michelle Petix at 736-2777.

The Steamboat Springs Arts Council is seeking entries for SummerArt 2005, a multimedia, juried fine-art exhibit, to be held at the Depot Art Center. The entry deadline is May 13. Emerald City Opera has several events planned

Emerald City Opera has several events in the works. The group is accepting scholarship applications from graduating seniors in Northwest Coloradoor continuing vocal study in college.ee a high school music teacher or call the opera at 879-1996. Summer camp registration open through Friday
