Routt County United Way celebrates Day of Caring

The Routt County United Way is celebrating its ninth annual Day of Caring on May 11 during the morning hours. The Day of Caring is an opportunity for people of all ages, throughout Routt County, to participate in a variety of projects that help the elderly, those with disabilities and disadvantaged. United Way matches projects that non-profit organizations and their clients may have with volunteers who may like to help with a project. Lunch will be provided and served by Ski Town Lions at noon at Olympian Hall for all volunteers. Call the Routt County United Way at 879-5605.

Memorial for Travis Taber will be dedicated May 21

Fellow classmates and friends of Travis Taber will be dedicating a living memorial in the schoolyard at South Routt Elementary School on May 21. The planting of a tree, some shrubs and flowers will begin at 10 a.m. A plaque will be placed, and the dedication will follow. E-Bay seminar on CMC campus on April 28

How to Buy and Sell on e-Bay, a seminar co-sponsored by the Colorado Mountain College SBDC and Steamboat Springs Economic Development Council, is from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 28 in Bogue Hall, Room 300, at Colorado Mountain College. Hayden Recreation Board seeking crafts vendors

The town of Hayden Recreation Board is seeking vendors of arts, crafts, children's items, garden items, etc. for the fourth annual Hayden Valley Summerfest. Vendors must have or apply for a Colorado Sales Tax License and a Hayden Sales Tax License. If interested, call Lindsay at 276-3741.

High school compiling list of past valedictorians

Steamboat Springs High School is compiling a list of all past valedictorians. If you have information from any past classes at SSHS, e-mail Gayle Dudley at gdudley@sssd.k12.co.us or call 871-3641. This information will be used for an alumni Hall of Fame.

Veterans office offeringinformation for veterans

The Veterans Affairs Office of Routt County, in the Workforce Office in Sundance at Fish Creek, offers information about the benefits available after discharge from the U.S. military. The office hours are 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Wednesday and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday.

Tread of Pioneers Museum reopens Tuesday morning

The Tread of Pioneers Museum will be closed for mud season through Monday. The museum will reopen at 11 a.m. Tuesday. Call 879-2214.

Bookstore promotingarea artists, writers

Off the Beaten Path Book-store is accepting work from local artists until Tuesday to be shown in the store during May. Stop by the store and see Nic for details. Also during April, the store is accepting work from local writers to be included in a self-published poetry anthology.

Registration under way for Mustang Roundup

Registration is under way for the 17th annual Mustang Roundup, to be held June 17 and 18. Events will include a scenic mountain tour, an autocross at the Meadows parking lot and the traditional Show 'n' Shine on Lincoln Avenue. Registration for the Show 'n' Shine ends June 1; forms are available at the Steamboat Springs Chamber Resort Association Visitors Center or online at www.rmmr.org. Call 879-0882.
