The Tread of Pioneers Museum will be closed for mud season through Monday. The museum will reopen at 11 a.m. Tuesday. Call 879-2214.

High school looking for all past valedictorians

Steamboat Springs High School is compiling a list of all past valedictorians. If you have information from any past classes at SSHS, e-mail Gayle Dudley at gdudley@sssd.k12.co.us or call 871-3641. This information will be used for an alumni Hall of Fame.

Veterans Affairs Office has benefits information

The Veterans Affairs Office of Routt County, in the Workforce Office in Sundance at Fish Creek, offers information about the benefits available after discharge from the U.S. military. The office hours are 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday to Wednesday and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday.

Bookstore promoting area artists, writers

Off the Beaten Path Bookstore is accepting work from local artists through Tuesday to be shown in the store during May. Stop by the store and see Nic for details. Also during April, the store is accepting work from local writers to be included in a self-published poetry anthology.

Newspaper seeks members for Editorial Board

The Steamboat Pilot & Today is accepting letters of interest from community representatives interested in serving on the newspaper's Editorial Board. The community representatives would serve a four-month term beginning May 1.

The Editorial Board includes two community representatives and four members of the newspaper staff. Newspaper staff members on the board include publisher Suzanne Schlicht, editor Scott Stanford, city editor Melissa Roddy and reporter Tom Ross. The Editorial Board formulates the Our View opinions expressed on the ViewPoints page of the newspaper.

Readers interested in serving on the Editorial Board should send a letter of 500 words or less expressing their interest in the board to Stanford at sstanford@steamboatpilot.com or P.O. Box 774827; Steamboat Springs, CO 80477. Letters also may be dropped off at the Pilot & Today office, 1901 Curve Plaza. Nominations are due Monday.

Mustang Roundup registration under way

Registration is under way for the 17th annual Mustang Roundup, to be held June 17 and 18. Events will include a scenic mountain tour, an autocross at the Meadows parking lot and the traditional Show 'n' Shine on Lincoln Avenue. Registration for the Show 'n' Shine ends June 1; forms are available at the Steamboat Springs Chamber Resort Association Visitors Center or online at www.rmmr.org. Call 879-0882.

Middle school Study Club in need of volunteers

Volunteers are needed for Steamboat Springs Middle School's after-school Study Club. The program runs from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Mondays to Thursdays. Any help is appreciated. Call 879-1058 for information.
