The Steamboat Springs Rotary Club was proud to honor Rebecca Timmerman as its February student of the month. Timmerman, the daughter of Chris and Jane Timmerman, is a junior at Christian Heritage School.
Timmerman has a 4.0 grade point average and serves as student council president. She has served on student council since she was in seventh grade. More recently, Timmerman led the school's tsunami relief effort, which raised $2,600.
Timmerman and student Kelly Northcutt formed Community Care-takers to provide community service opportunities for Christian Heritage School students.
Timmerman has been on the varsity tennis team for three years, lettering twice. She also has been active in the Yampa Valley Pony Club for many years. She works part-time at Lyon Drug. Timmerman plans to major in pre-med in college and has a goal of becoming a pediatrician.
"I have enjoyed seeing Rebecca develop into the outstanding young woman she is today," Christian Heritage School Assistant Principal Betty Lockhart said. "Rebecca is definitely a go-getter who will make a great student of the month."
