Film fest entries needed

Submissions are requested from local amateur film makers for the upcoming Steamboat Mountain Film Festival. Filmmakers will compete for a grand prize of $1,000, a screening of their film and a chance to work as an associate producer with Warren Miller Entertainment for the Steamboat segment of the 2006 Warren Miller movie.

The Steamboat Mountain Film Festival will be held Nov. 19 at the Steamboat Grand Resort Hotel.

All film submissions must include some aspect of an action sport from any season (biking, skiing, snowboarding, kayaking, etc.). All submissions must predominantly feature footage from the Steamboat Springs area and cannot be longer than 35 minutes, including credits. Films must have been completed after Sept. 1, 2003. Video or DVD format is accepted. Deadline for entries is 5 p.m. Oct. 15.

Applications for the Steamboat Mountain Film Festival may be picked up at Colorado Mountain College, Bristol Hall Tolles Center Offices, No. 238. Call the Steamboat Ski Area at 879-6111 with questions.
