Former Steamboat Springs resident Darby Ann Curtis of Loveland died suddenly at her home Sept. 20, 2004.
Darby was born April 29, 1954, in Phoenix, Ariz., to Arthur and Margaret Erickson Ewald.
She graduated from Greeley West High School in 1972 and attended Mountain College in Steamboat Springs. She married Peter Curtis on May 31, 1975, in Las Vegas and until 1979 was a resident of Steamboat Springs.
Darby was a medical assistant at Aspen Medical Center in Loveland and was also an instructor for College America in Fort Collins, teaching medical assistant courses. She was a member of First United Methodist Church. She also enjoyed being outdoors, boating, playing cribbage and scrapbooking, especially for her family.
Preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Wanda Ewald, she is survived by her husband, Peter Curtis, and a son, Tyler Curtis, both of Loveland; daughter, Meghan Curtis of Steamboat Springs; parents, Margaret Ewald of Loveland and Art Ewald of Greeley; brothers, Jack Ewald of Denver and Doug Ewald of Greeley; numerous aunts; uncles; nieces and nephews.
Memorial service were held Sept. 25, 2004, at First United Methodist Church in Loveland.
