LIFT-UP Donation Center closed today and Friday
The LIFT-UP Donation Center will be closed today and Friday because of space limitations. The donation center will reopen with its regular schedule Tuesday. Call 879-3374.
Steamboat kitchen tour tickets now on sale
Strings in the Mountains presents a tour of Steamboat kitchens and demonstrations by local chefs Michael Fragola of Cottonwood Grill, Richie Billingham of Tobiano, Rocky LeBrun of Antares and Dominick Riggio of Riggio's Fine Italian Food. Tickets are $20 in advance or $25 the day of the tour. Tickets are available at All That Jazz, the Homesteader and Off the Beaten Path Bookstore or by calling 879-5056, ext. 105. On Sept. 25, tickets can be purchased at the Strings box office, Kitchen Perfection or the Mesa Schoolhouse on U.S. Highway 40 east of Steamboat Springs. The tour will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 25.
Steamboat Dance Theatre seeks people to lecture
The Steamboat Dance Theatre is seeking applicants to lecture and/or give dance demonstrations to elementary, middle and high school students for its School Outreach Program. This program teaches students dance movements, dance education, wellness and community responsibility. Call Kent at 879-6486.
Christmas in the Rockies applications being taken
Applications for the Steamboat Springs Arts Council's annual holiday market, Christmas in the Rockies, are available at the Depot Art Center. The market will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 4 at Strawberry Park Elementary School. The application deadline is Nov. 5 or until the show is filled. Pilot seeks teenagers to participate in Style section

Volunteers needed to help at Colorado Cog ProRally
The Colorado Cog ProRally, a nationally televised off-road driving event, is looking for volunteers to assist with timing, scoring and crowd control Sept. 25. Bust of Steamboat

Sponsorships for the 2004 Bust of Steamboat are available. Artists and designers are invited to sponsor and decorate a bra for the Bust of Steamboat. Bras will be sold at a live auction Oct. 22 at the Depot Art Center. Sponsorships are a tax-deductible donation of $250 to the Yampa Valley Breast Cancer Awareness Project. All funds benefit uninsured or underinsured women of the Yampa Valley who are in need of mammograms or financial assistance for breast cancer treatment. Call Debbie Curd at 871-7907 or 879-2373.

Children's hospital benefit Saturday at ranch
Elk River Guest Ranch hosts a benefit for St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital on Saturday. Horseback riding will take place during the day, followed by a pig roast at 5 p.m. with live music and a silent auction. All proceeds from the rides, roast and auction will be contributed to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital. RSVP to 879-6220 by today.
