Applications available for quarterly grants

The deadline for quarterly grants from the Yampa Valley Community Foundation is Nov. 1. Applications are available at 465 Anglers Drive in Sundance Office Suites.

Election forum will be broadcast today at 5

An election forum held Monday and sponsored by the Steamboat Pilot & Today and KRMR will be broadcast from 5 to 7 p.m. today on KRMR, 100.5 and 107.3 FM. Hear county commissioner candidates and state legislative candidates for Senate District 8 and House District 57 speak on top election issues, as well as a debate on the city's ballot question 2A regarding formation of a local marketing district.

Navigator Awards will be presented Wednesday

The Steamboat Springs Chamber Resort Association and the Steamboat Pilot & Today will present the annual Navigator Awards at the chamber's annual meeting and luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Steamboat Grand Resort Hotel. Call 879-0880, ext. 201.

Adult swim practice is Mondays and Wednesdays

Adult swim practice for all levels of swimmers is offered at 8 a.m. Mondays and 9 a.m. Wednesdays at the Steamboat Springs Health and Recreation Center. The cost is $5 per session, and $40 punch cards are available. Call 879-1828, ext. 53.

Flu vaccines are available at flu-shot clinics

Flu vaccines are available at Steamboat Medical Group, 1475 Pine Grove Road. The vaccine is $15 at the time of service or $18 if your insurance is billed. No appointment is necessary. Steamboat Medical Group will hold flu-shot clinics from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday and from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday and Oct. 30 and Nov. 6.

Newspaper seeks teens

to write, take photos

Advocates looking for community volunteers

Advocates Against Battering and Abuse is looking for community volunteers interested in helping victims of domestic and sexual violence. Advocates will host a 25-hour training this fall, with the first session from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 30. Call Allison at 879-2034 to volunteer.
