Students selling pizza

for 7th-, 8th-grade trip

Seventh- and eighth-grade Christian Heritage School students are selling Little Caesar's pizza to raise funds for a trip to Washington, D.C. Orders must be submitted by Oct. 25 for delivery Nov. 9. The school also is selling butter braids. Orders must be submitted by Oct. 25 for delivery Nov. 3. Call the school at 879-1760.

Soroco High School

to celebrate homecoming

Soroco High School celebrates homecoming this week with a number of activities. Tuesday is T-shirt signing day, with a powder-puff football game at 6 p.m. and a bonfire from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday is nerd day. Wednesday is costume day, with a chili cook-off from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the high school commons area and a power volleyball game from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, school spirit day, includes a pep assembly from 1:45 to 3:15 p.m., volleyball games against Paonia at 4 and 5 p.m. and a football game at 7:30 p.m. Homecoming royalty will be crowned at halftime. Homecoming week ends Saturday with volleyball games against West Grand at 11 a.m., noon and 1 p.m., and a homecoming dance at 9 p.m.

Children's Danceworks

fall registration open

Registration is under way for Children's Danceworks' fall session of creative dance classes for children ages 3 to 10. Parent-toddler classes also are offered. Dancers ages 4 to 10 may perform in Oak Street Performing Arts Company's "Jolly Holidays" show in December. Costs vary by class. To register, call 736-1005.

Steamboat Medical Group offering flu vaccines

Flu vaccines are now available at Steamboat Medical Group, 1475 Pine Grove Road. The vaccine is $15 with payment at time of service or $18 if we bill your insurance. No appointment is necessary. Steamboat Medical Group will hold Flu Shot Clinics from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesdays Oct. 13, 20 and 27, and from 10 a.m. to noon Saturdays, Oct. 16, 23, 30 and Nov. 6.

Bereavement group

to hold Monday meetings

Mending A Broken Heart, a four-week bereavement group for anyone grieving the death of a loved one, will begin today. The group will meet from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Mondays through Nov. 1 at the offices of the Visiting Nurse Association. This group is sponsored by the VNA and Hospice. There is no cost.
