Police looking for man involved in knife fight
The Steamboat Springs Police Department is investigating a fight between two men that happened early Wednesday morning in West Lincoln Park.
One man was taken to the hospital with cuts to his arm, and the police are looking for the man who cut him.
The incident began at a college party at a house in rural Routt County, where a fistfight started between the two men, Sgt. Nick Bosick said. The owner of the house told everyone to go home, and the men agreed to meet at the West Lincoln Park to continue fighting.
The two men began fighting, when one man allegedly pulled out an expandable baton and started striking the victim. The victim said he was able to get the baton and threw it, he thought, into the pond.
The man then allegedly pulled out a knife and cut the victim in the arm.
The victim was taken to Yampa Valley Medical Center.
The incident was not reported until at least 12 hours after it happened, and the police were notified by the hospital.
The victim told police he did not know who the other man was. The man may have driven to Fort Collins after the fight.
If anyone has any information about the incident, call police at 879-1144.
