Christmas tree-cutting permits available today

The Yampa Ranger District Office is open from 9 a.m. to noon today to sell Christmas tree permits, which are $10 each. Each permit is for a single tree, with a maximum of five permits per household. The permit cannot be reused, and sales are final, nonrefundable and expire on the last day of the calendar year. Remember to carry a permit when cutting a tree. Attach the permit around the main trunk of the tree as soon as it is cut down. Transport the tree so that the permit is clearly visible from the outside of vehicles. The Yampa office is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays and will be open from 9 a.m. to noon Dec. 18. Call 638-4516.
