Hunter found dead Saturday morning
A 68-year-old man was found dead early Saturday morning at a hunting camp in southern Routt County. Jerry Fults of Dallas, Texas, was discovered by members of his hunting party in an area south of Toponas near the Eagle County border, Routt County Coroner Rob Ryg said. Fults apparently died of natural causes in his sleep, Ryg said. An autopsy is scheduled today in Jefferson County.

Military veterans can get information about veterans' benefits and programs by calling 879-5489 or stopping by the Routt County Veterans Services Office, in the Colorado Workforce Center in Sundance at Fish Creek. The office is open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Wednesday and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday. Bring a DD Form 214 for registration with the county, application for Veterans Administration programs and filing with the VSO office.
Winter Sports Club taking program registrations
Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club alpine, freestyle, Nordic and snowboard junior programs begin in early December. Register at the SSWSC office in Howelsen Hill Lodge. Call 879-0695, ext. 100.
Tread of Pioneers Museum seeking project volunteers
The Tread of Pioneers Museum is seeking volunteers interested in helping with artifact conservation projects. No experience is necessary, and museum staff will provide direction on projects such as stabilizing photo albums, caring for historic clothing and accessories and generally improving the storage and care of items. Call museum curator Kelly Bastone at 879-2214.
Hayden Senior Holiday Friendship Tea is Dec. 11
The fourth annual Hayden Senior Holiday Friendship Tea is Dec. 11. Entertainment will provided on the harp and piano by Andrea Erickson.

Musicians sought for orchestra celebration
Musicians are wanted to participate in the Steamboat Springs Chamber Orchestra's Family Christmas Celebration. Performances will be held at 7 p.m. Dec. 4 and 2 p.m. Dec. 5. Violin, tuba, trombone, trumpet and bassoon players are needed. Call 879-3685.
National forest firewood, tree permits available
Permits to cut firewood and Christmas trees in the Routt National Forest are available from the U.S. Forest Service visitors' center at 925 Weiss Drive. Firewood permits are $20 and allow gathering up to two cords of firewood. Christmas tree permits are $10 per tree. Call 870-1870.
