Festival of Trees to be held Friday through Nov. 23

The Tread of Pioneers Museum will be closed today through Thursday in preparation for its 10th annual Festival of Trees event. Public viewing of the trees runs daily from Friday to Nov. 23. Call 879-2214.

Crafters, artisans wanted for Hayden Holiday Bazaar

Crafters and artisans are sought to participate in Hayden's Holiday Bazaar on Dec. 4. The event is a fund-raiser for the Rocking 'A' Scholarship fund.

Figure Skating Club

Members of the Steamboat Springs Figure Skating Club are taking orders for fresh baked pumpkin pie, pecan pie, apple cranberry streusel pie, pumpkin cheesecake, chocolate chip cheesecake and Parker House Rolls. The pies, cheesecakes and rolls are baked at Outlaws Restaurant and will be ready for pick up Nov. 24, the day before Thanksgiving. Place orders by Friday at Howelsen Ice Arena. Call 879-2391. All proceeds benefit the club.

Military veterans benefits information available

Military veterans can get information about veterans' benefits and programs by calling 879-5489 or stopping by the Routt County Veterans Services Office in the Colorado Workforce Center in Sundance at Fish Creek. The office is open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Wednesday and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday. Veterans should bring their DD Form 214 for registration with the county, application for Veterans Administration programs and filing with the VSO office.

Tread of Pioneers Museum seeks project volunteers

The Tread of Pioneers Museum is seeking volunteers interested in helping with artifact conservation projects. No experience is necessary, and museum staff will provide direction on projects such as stabilizing photo albums, caring for historic clothing and accessories, and improving the storage and care of items in the museum's collection. Call museum curator Kelly Bastone at 879-2214.

Bird-feeding event to be held Saturday at Yampatika

"Feeding our feathered friends," a family event sponsored by Elk River Farm and Feed and hosted by Yampatika, is from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at Yampatika. Elk River Farm and Feed will give away door prizes and special coupons and sign up people for a photo contest hosted by Purina Mills.
