2:35 a.m. A man complained about noise from semitrailers outside B&K Distributing Inc. in the 1100 block of 13th Street. He says the semitrailers wake up his son, but B & K says it is conducting standard business. The case is going to court.

8:51 a.m. A man reported a bear on the back deck of his house on the 2000 block of Anthony Circle. The bear ran away upon the officer's arrival, and the officer notified the Department of Wildlife.

9:40 a.m. A man reported the theft of the topper from his truck in the 2000 block of Indian Summer Drive. The theft occurred last week.

11:44 a.m. A resident in the 40 block of East Maple Street complained about high school students parking in the residential area. Officers were unable to do anything because no signs restricting parking were posted and because they could not identify which cars were nonresidential.

11:51 a.m. A man reported an attempted break-in that caused damage to the building's door at the Steamboat Meat & Seafood Co. in the 1000 block of Yampa Street.

2:04 p.m. A suspicious person was reported staggering and yelling in an alley in the 1100 block of Yampa Street. The man was heading in the direction of the police department, and officers confronted him outside the department and persuaded him to return home.

2:30 p.m. A two-car motor vehicle accident occurred in the 1300 block of Bob Adams Drive. No injuries were reported.

3:12 p.m. A vehicle was parked on the bike path near the 1200 block of Lincoln Avenue. At the request of officers, the owner moved the vehicle.

3:16 p.m. A sign was stolen from the left-hand side of the road at Stone Bridge Park. It was a lighted sign valued at $4,000 to $5,000.

3:28 p.m. A woman reported theft of property from her apartment while she was away from it for an extended time. The case was dropped when deputies discovered that the woman's landlord had simply moved the furniture for someone subletting the woman's apartment.

4:53 p.m. A driver reported that people were picking up rocks owned by the county near Moon Hill Meadows. Officers spoke with the people who then ceased their activities.

5:54 p.m. An officer was requested for a domestic violence situation in the Steamboat Springs area.

7:13 p.m. A woman requested that police check on her mother's welfare in the 50 block of Dream Island Plaza. The mother had not responded to her daughter's phone calls.

9:44 p.m. A suspicious vehicle was reported parked with its engine running outside a locked gate at M & M Auto Co. Inc. in the 4000 block of Lincoln Avenue. The vehicle was gone upon police arrival.
