Longtime Oak Creek resident Bernice St. Clair died May 6, 2004, at the Doak Walker Care Center. She was 99.
Bernice was born Nov. 15, 1904, in Regan, Neb., to John C. and Daisy Walker. She lived in Nebraska until moving to Boulder with her family in 1919.
Bernice graduated from high school in Boulder. She married Jack C. Brough in 1928. He died in 1936.
She married Richard St. Clair in 1937 in Denver.
Bernice lived in Boulder, Estes Park and Denver before moving to Oak Creek, where she lived for the last 38 years. She was a member of the Oak Creek United Methodist Church and Eastern Star Wild Rose Chapter No. 132.
Bernice enjoyed crocheting, painting, fishing and especially being with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Mildred and Velva; three brothers, Clair, Warren and Lester; and her husband, Richard St. Clair.
Bernice is survived by her daughter, Betty Sweetland of Oak Creek; two sons, Gene Brough of Fredricksburg, Texas, and Richard Brough of Brighton; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Services were held May 15, 2004, at the United Methodist Church in Oak Creek. Karen Gibson officiated.
