Conservative Coors
I take exception to last Saturday's headline, "Coors enters race as moderate." There is nothing moderate about his platform. Peter Coors is a right-wing conservative, and it is onerous that your paper would attempt to portray him otherwise.
Education evaluation
The Board of Education has mentioned in the past the 360-degree of our former superintendent. Will teachers, support staff, parents and administrators be part of such an evaluation this year?
I have a question
Here is a question of the week for you. Why don't you ask the public what they think of Scott Stanford as the editor of our local newspaper? Was it better before he got here or now?
Clubhouse cost
I was calling about your articles in the newspaper regarding the $4 million clubhouse. I think it would be great if the Steamboat Pilot & Today would go back and revisit the articles and let people know that it's not a city tax but a lodging tax that is paying for this. I think there are a lot of misconceptions and confusion.
South Routt med center
I'd like to address the article in the newspaper about Steamboat Medical Group pulling out of the South Routt Medical Center and new leadership needed. Perhaps Mayor Rodeman, who is so good at collecting money from grants and so forth, can help out here and get us a medical center. We are not even rural anymore. We have so many people moving in Stagecoach and Oak Creek. We really need a medical center down here.
Cost of education
In regards to all of the publications about the school district's financial woes, I do question where our tax money is going. Is the money being spent on smaller class sizes, as we were all led to believe its purpose was? Is the money in a couple of holding pens? How much money does the district have in reserves? I really think the residents need to know exactly how much money our school district has. Why are we scrimping and saving when it comes to the education of our children?
