Arts Council seeks members

The Steamboat Springs Arts Council is seeking new members for its Visual Arts Committee. Committee members are expected to be involved in all aspects of exhibit production, participate in focus groups to enhance existing visual arts programming and attend quarterly meetings. The council is looking for people who have ideas for exhibits or visual arts programs at the Depot Art Center and are willing to make them happen. State Bridge Lodge opening

State Bridge Lodge, 55 miles south of Steamboat Springs on Colorado Highway 131, opens this weekend. Improvements being introduced this year include five yurts added behind the lodge, an enhanced sound system, a widened stage and a finished upstairs room. The lineup this year begins with Possum Logic on Saturday and Zilla, featuring Michael Travis from String Cheese Incident, on Sunday.

Other events throughout the summer include the State of Mind Festival with Steve Kimock Band on May 16, Sucker with dj dotcom on May 22, Israel Vibration on June 4, Donna the Buffalo on June 24, Karl Denson's Tiny Universe on July 11 and The Stockholm Syndrome, featuring Dave Schools of Widespread Panic, Wally Ingram, Jerry Joseph, Eric McFadden, on Aug 8.
